Parts & Labour

Milk [Toronto] – Parkdale Diamond in the Rough

partsnlabour_nov2010-02Parts & Labour is a badass haute cuisine restaurant, bar and cultural hub located on the Parkdale Queen Street strip. A bit of a rough ‘n ready scenester hangout, this popular watering hole is a meeting point for those who like to imbibe the weekend well into Sunday afternoons. But it’s also a great place to kick back for some tasty brunch, chat late at night over drinks with friends, and get lost in awesome live music in The Shop downstairs.

This former community hardware store screams leftover industrial with multi-coloured lamps that light up the black bar and flickering tube lights above long communal wooden tables. The exposed brick walls are barren allowing for the downstairs space to reverberate hard rap beats.

This off-the-wall place is perfect for those who need a ‘cool-kid slap in the face’. Self-proclaimed cool cats are no match for P&L who always have the upper hand at making you feel less cool than you actually are. Still, it’s one heck of a space to chat and chill.

Tip: Do not overdress, slashed denim will do just fine.
