Milk [Berlin] – Carpet Diem
So you’ve just moved into your new apartment in Berlin and you’re dying to find a beautiful area rug that reflects your creative edge and makes your space a home. You want something classic to fit your antique markets finds, but modern enough to match those hip cushions you bought last week. This is no job for any old rug shop… roll out the red carpet, because Rug Star on Mulackstraße is the place for you.
Rug Star is a veritable magic carpet emporium. The showroom is ablaze in colour, from peacock blue to canary yellow to sunrise orange. The hand knotted rugs are artistic fusions of traditional and contemporary – think watercolour-like creations mixed with avant-garde designs. All the rugs are designed in Berlin and produced in Nepal using highest quality materials like Tibetan highland wool, Chinese silk and Himalayan hemp. The Nepal workshop prides itself on the highest standards of working environment and community-engagement. Founder Jürgen Dahlmanns approaches carpet design with improvisation and innovation, and custom designs are available too.
The rugs are true works of art and well worth the investment. Consider them heirlooms and something to grow old with – for gathering with family and friends, for celebrations and soirées, or simply for magnificent daily comfort. If you thought falling in love with carpet wasn’t possible then guess again. Rug Star is sure to get your retina’s popping and your creative juices flowing.
